Our baby girl was three weeks old on Monday, July 4th. We spent the holiday weekend with friends over brunch and board games and Grandma K was here spending time with little E and giving us some time to pack. Harper has already changed so much since the day she came home. Though she still seems so small, her face and body are starting to fill out and she's becoming more and more alert every day. Her eyes are still a beautiful blue color, but I think they may end up being blue or green, instead of hazel like her brother. Her hair appears to be light blondish around her face, but she has a funny, long dark brown patch of hair at the crown of her head. She's still waking us up to eat every 2-3 hours at night and 3-4 during the day. She appears to be eating well, but we're worried that she may have reflux (which is very common). Though she doesn't spit up much, she seems to be in pain after eating, eats small, frequent meals, gets the hiccups often, coughs and generally seems to associate eating with pain. It's really hard for a nursing mother to see her milk causing pain in her baby. Usually nursing is a way to comfort a baby, but in this case it's hard to calm her down. We see the pediatrician on Monday and hope to find some ways to make her more comfortable. In the meantime, I'm going to limit my dairy intake, which should also bring her some relief. Her brother still doesn't seem to notice or care that she lives in our house, which is kind of nice. He appears to ignore her all together. We move to our new home in just one short week, which I hope goes smoothly. Our wonderful friends continue to bring awesome dinners over about every other night, which has made taking care of two kids and packing so much easier. We're really going to miss living here, but are excited about our new adventure.
Happy 4th of July!!

She is so beautiful! I'm sorry that I haven't been much help the last couple of weeks. And I'm still in denial that you are leaving. :( What are you doing on Monday? I'll give you a call tomorrow like a normal friend. :)
